Lacquered folding wall shelf

This very pretty folding shelf has been black lacquered and then hand painted and gilded with daisies & foliage with a large butterfly on the back plate. The shelf folds flat if not is use but once it is hung, the shelf folds down to latch onto a support that folds back to the side. I think that this was probably made during the Edwardian period.
